There is Tension in the Air

“I am convinced that any suffering we endure is less than nothing compared to the magnitude of glory that is about to be unveiled within us.” Romans 8:18

This word glory in the Greek is doxa which can also mean radiant beauty, splendor, or perfection. Every trial and suffering we endure is meant to unveil within us the radiant beauty, splendor and perfection of Yeshua. When others see you and I, do they see Yeshua?

We often think suffering and trials come from tragic moments in our lives, but these moments of suffering can happen in everyday life. What happens when we encounter rude customers or a co-worker that is hard to deal with? This moment of tension reveals one of two things: Yeshua or you. Yeshua will have revelation knowledge of what is happening in their life that causes the outward behaviors. We too can have revelation knowledge if we choose to see what He sees.

We face trials with our children. This ranges from baby to adults. Who do we display when our children are struggling? Yeshua or ourselves? As a child I did not grow up with parents who displayed the image of Yeshua. My heart’s desire is for our children to see Yeshua when they encounter me. My response isn’t perfect every time but more and more when they see me, they see Yeshua. This is the fruit of valuing my encounters with Him. A couple of days ago one of my children said, “when I was ten you responded to me a lot different than you do now.” It’s been a couple of years since she was ten. That was a kiss from Yeshua to say they see Me in you.

Pastor Tim gave us a great illustration on Sunday when he said, “there is a tension between already and not yet.” You are already like Yeshua but not yet. We grow from glory to glory.

“This moment of tension is going to produce a glory in you that will make more of the Kingdom’s glory available to you. It is increasing your integrity. What you can carry without buckling under pressure.” Pastor Tim

If you continue to read Romans 8 it tells us why glory will continue to be unveiled in us, because the universe is standing on tiptoe yearning to see the unveiling of Yahweh’s beloved sons and beloved daughters. The world around you and I have had to endure futility against its will because of the consequences of humanity not knowing they are made in His image. The universe is “with eager expectations” waiting for freedom from decay to become who it is designed to be.

There is a tension between what we see and what our faith says is possible. As you have opportunities of suffering and trials today let it pull you closer to the heart of Yeshua. Allow Him to reveal what is really happening. The more we allow these moments of tension to be filled with His presence the more we look like Yeshua to those around us.
